Oh No! Punxsutawney Phil sees shadow; winter to continue
Main Core, PROMIS and the Shadow Government (Pt. 3)
by Ed Encho
With the long overdue departure of the Bush administration from the White House it is the hope many that the myriad of transgressions against the Constitution and the people of America will begin to seep out into the public domain. It took a remarkably short time. The day after the helicopter hauled ole George away like so much rubbish a major story broke. In an astonishing shot across the bow directed at the shadow government the first significant whistleblower has already come out with a story (once again ignored by the corporate media) and delivered a devastating blow to the premise that the massive illegal domestic spying programs of the Bush administration were undertaken in order to protect America from terrorism in the aftermath of September 11th, 2001.
Former NSA analyst Russell Tice during two recent interviews on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann (pt1,pt2)confirmed that the Bush-Cheney-Rove phony war on terror was as people like myself have always strongly suspected in actuality a war on America itself. According to the patriotic Mr. Tice the targets of the domestic spying included news organizations and journalists and that the surveillance for specific targets was not limited to professional matters alone, they were spied on 24/7.

Europeans bristle at 'Leader of free world'
Of course we can all rejoice in that Obama is reversing Bush’s chilling, deadly policies. Which is the least one should expect of him. But that’s not a step forward in any way. It is merely regaining a few of the already diminished freedoms we had, and letting up a bit with on our consistent world thugism by choosing to discuss our problems with our adversaries instead of shoot our way out of them. I suppose in the world of American politics that amounts to sublime statesmanship. And after the series of presidents we’ve had, each one so much more deviously fucked than the previous, it’s no wonder Obama looks like the second coming of Christ to so many. And hey! We’ve got his guarantee that we will only kill Iraqi babies for 18 more months! That’s what passes for improvement in this morally and civically impoverished country.
If we’d have elected wild Ozark boar instead of Obama, the hog’s presidency would still come out less destructive than Bush’s in history’s rating game, although the Oval Office carpet may have suffered.

For top 400 Americans, combined income of $105 billion in 2006
Statistics recently released by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the federal tax authority in the US, show that in the year prior to the emergence of the financial crisis a tiny share of the population enriched itself enormously.
In only one year, 2006, the income of the top 400 Americans—who comprise about .0001% of the population—stood at more than $105 billion, or $263 million a head. To join this exclusive club, individuals had to take home a minimum of $111 million.
Less than one fifth of the financial aristocracy’s income went in tax payments to the IRS: $18 billion cumulatively, or $45 million per head.
The proportion of their total income the rich paid in taxes, just 17%, was the lowest since the IRS began to collect similar data 18 years ago. It is also well below the tax rate of most working class families, according to Robert S. McIntyre, the director of Citizens for Tax Justice.

The Defense Department is forming a civilian expeditionary workforce that will be trained and equipped to deploy overseas in support of military missions worldwide, according to department officials.
The intent of the program “is to maximize the use of the civilian workforce to allow military personnel to be fully utilized for operational requirements,” according to a Defense Department statement. [Where do you think they're going to get this "civilian workforce" from? What they really mean to say is the civilian unemployed; those who have lost their jobs in the fallout from the impending collapse. Once all these people are out of work and desperate to feed their families, they're going to be recruited into these "service" positions WITHOUT their consent. Say goodbye to free will in America. Welcome to the new Soviet America, where you're free to do as they tell you.]

Delusion & Denial
The Age of Delusion & Denial has entered the War on all fronts, and it must be dealt with if we are to find our way out of this labyrinth of hell-bent collapse.
This complete reversal disregarded anything of value, of substance, or humanity – in this nightmare race to turn the whole world upside down.

Israeli Spokesman: We Control Stupid Americans
"Another Israeli spokeswoman, Tzipora Menache, stated that she was not worried about negative ramifications the Israeli onslaught on Gaza might have on the way the Obama administration would view Israel. She said 'You know very well, and the stupid Americans know equally well, that we control their government, irrespective of who sits in the White House. You see, I know it and you know it that no American president can be in a position to challenge us even if we do the unthinkable. What can they (Americans) do to us? We control congress, we control the media, we control show biz, and we control everything in America. In America you can criticize God, but you can't criticize Israel."

Silence at flattened mosques, but wreck a synagogue....
According to reports, 23 mosques were damaged or destroyed by Israel’s military during their most recent onslaught on Gaza. Nary a peep has been heard in the American/Western media about Israel’s state-sponsored vandalism against religious structures.
But let a synagogue get wrecked and the screams from the usual pseudo-victims would wake the dead.
Former Sec’y of State Condoleezza Rice made it to ABC’s The View this morning, so naturally, Barbara Walters showed up as well. Wow, another big name interview for the wannabe political forum, - right after some quasi-relentless sparring with Ron. Blagojevich just a few days before. It was the perfect time for Babs to bring ‘er on, and finally ask the tough questions about war and torture and eight years of Bush hell. Yeah, right.
In this long awaited ‘interview,’ Condy sweetly told us that she was glad that Iraq had been liberated….and how she regretted the tragic aftermath of Katrina. That was it, no questions, no challenges, nada, nil, zip. This woman who failed so abysmally as George Bush’s National Security Adviser, and surely was the worst Secretary of State in our nation’s history, got a totally free pass from an adoring panel and a mesmerized audience. How ugly is that?

Maybe there never was a danger of financial meltdown.
Maybe only a few institutions like AIG, which is reportedly linked to the CIA, were in trouble.
Maybe certain people are manipulating events.
V.V. Charri and his colleagues and co-authors Lawrence Christiano and Patrick Kehoe agree that with companies like Lehman Brothers, AIG and Citigroup foundering because of toxic debt instruments, there was a sense of a financial crisis brewing, but they say it wasn’t a credit freeze.
Charri says: "This was a lot like the run-up to the Iraq invasion in 2003."You had people in government saying: `We’re smart guys, trust us.’ But they were either wrong or they were lying."
Adds Kehoe: "Normally, when you’re going to spend a lot of money, you present the data and the economic theory to support it, yet here’s the biggest non-military government intervention in history since the Great Depression, and there was no evidence presented to support it, and no detailed economic argument made about what market failures this $700 billion was going to fix."

Superbowl Blog Special!!! Back by popular demand: We are all sinners, but some can upgrade.
Well, yesterday I took part in one of our greatest American cultural rites. It was the Superbowl, and the really cool thing was the commercials. That's what everyone seems to look forward to, and of course I'm no exception. How else would I ever figure out what I want?
One company, as part of their commercial, told us the total amount of money that had been spent on the entire super bowl broadcast. It was some huge obscene figure that it seemed, to the viewers in my lowdown neighborhood, almost imaginary. As usual, however, I missed the brand name and don't know what the hell I'm supposed to buy. In that sense their commercial was a pathetic failure.
But I was interested in what came after The Big Number, the millions of dollars "we" as a nation spent on the Superbowl broadcast. After The Number, there's a second of silence (they're waiting for us to finish going "oooohh!" over the big number). Then a big booming male voice says, "And it's been worth every penny!"
Cut to beer commercial with scantily clad white chicks.

UK Government Green Advisor: No more than 2 children per family to 'fight global warming'
COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s green adviser has warned.
Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.
A report by the commission, to be published next month, will say that governments must reduce population growth through better family planning.
“I am unapologetic about asking people to connect up their own responsibility for their total environmental footprint and how they decide to procreate and how many children they think are appropriate,” Porritt said.

Does Israel Fit the Definition of Psychopath?
So who are psychopaths? Broadly speaking, they are people who use manipulation, violence and intimidation to control others and satisfy selfish needs. They can be intelligent and highly charismatic, but display a chronic inability to feel guilt, remorse or anxiety about any of their actions.
Tack on the use of violence and intimidation to control others and satisfy selfish needs and the label expands.
Use violence and intimidation to control others and satisfy selfish needs? That's Israel to a T. The whole damned nation was founded by using violence and intimidation, like the bloody raids the Zionists used against the Palestinians before they took over that country in 1948. A well organized campaign of terror that continues to this day.
A systematic campaign of terror, intimidation and violence against the Palestinians involving the murder of entire villages, then burning down those villages and erecting Israeli towns in their place, effectively wiping "off the map" entire parts of Palestine.
Not content with the 55% of Palestine the Jewish invaders had been given of Palestine, they have been killing, stealing and terrorizing their way to an Eretz Israel which includes parts of Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Turkey and all of Lebanon. And ALL of Palestine and they're getting close, as they now have control over 80% of Palestine.

The betrayal of the commons
Trust, not money, makes the world go around. Money is an emblem of the exchange of trust. It doesn't exist except as an invention.
And trust has been broken.
Yes, it's all smoke and mirrors, and everyone who looked already knew that. That isn't news. The news, as Alan Greenspan said pathetically in front of Congress, was that the moguls and bankers and investment gurus did not act according to their own self interest. They did not just risky things but insanely stupid risky things and thought they could hide from their karma. They betrayed the trust of one another when they made deals, invented bogus instruments or used good ones unwisely, and they betrayed the trust of all of us. Nor will they pay the penalty they should. They never do. They never do.
We trusted the wise old men of the Fed, sitting on their dais like judges, looking down on plain people, to think about their actions, follow out the implications, and heed voices of caution and alarm.
They betrayed that trust.
We trusted the SEC to ensure that a failure to open the books by a man with a charming smile and ties to many Wall Street friends, so easy with his lies and deceit, we trusted that his lack of transparency would raise red flags, we trusted the SEC to do their job and not sell us out because they were complicit, equally criminal in their acts, or just plain dumb.
They betrayed that trust.
Too much television can make children 'mentally ill'
Excessive exposure makes a child materialistic, which in turn affects their relationship with their parents and their health.
That is one of the conclusions of a new wide-ranging survey into British childhood, produced for the Children's Society.
It says that children are part of a new form of consumerism, with under 16 year-olds spending £3 billion of their own money each year on clothes, snacks, music, video games and magazines.
The report claims that some advertisers "explicitly exploit the mechanism of peer pressure, while painting parents as buffoons" and that in its most extreme form, advertising persuades children that "you are what you own".
Oy, is there anyone out there with more chutzpah than our amazing Ehudini?
With two zeleiger wars, mountains of dead islamofacist kinders and shikzes, and charges of corruption going back to when he was mayor of Jerusalem, our Ehud'le always said that he is a haimish mensch and the victim of a witch hunt by his political competitors.
Nu, our prime'le minister showed the world that he is so important, he can even call the president of Americe off the podium to the phone, and give him orders about how Condi'le should vote at the UN.
He showed the goyim in Lebanon and Goyza that he can play G_d and exterminate masses of them whenever he wants to with unconventional weapons supplied by the Americans. He can even attack UN schools and warehouses, and rely on Americe to veto any UN action against Israel.
Our Ehud'le is not stupid. He understands that he is one of the Chosen people and he can do whatever he likes and never face justice at the farkockteh ICC.
He has friends in high places and he knew all would be forgiven by the voters in Yisrael if he managed to kill enough meshuggenah hamasniks before the election.
Nu shoin, his only regret about Goyza is that he will be losing his diplomatic immunity in March, and the annual family trip, all expenses paid by Yad Vashim and AKIM, will have to be delayed until it's safe for our Ehudini to go back to Europe.
But perhaps our Bush'le will invite Ehudini and his family for a visit to the new ranch in Paraguay, a safe place for war criminals to hide from the witch hunting operatives of the Hague.
