Obama and Perez of Israel both made a video message for the people of Iran attempting to reach out to them while still falsely accusing Iranian leadership of attempting to make nuclear weapons. Sounds a little like Bush’s message to the people of Iraq, now doesn’t it?
“I think the Iranian nation will topple these leaders — leaders that do not serve the people. In the end, people will understand this,” Peres said. MSNBC
That’s not the only thing coming from Obama these days that sounds a little too much like his predicessor;
At a town hall meeting in southern California yesterday, Obama renewed his support for comprehensive (immigration) reform, including a possible path to citizenship… Boston.com
Janet Murguía, president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza, added, “While we agree that our priority should be fixing the nation’s economy, we also believe that we can initiate an immigration reform that will help us achieve long-term economic growth.” Boston.com
And for those “business-first liberals” out there who support Obama’s centrist manuvering, this means that yes, he will continue to strive to achieve what the Bush administration failed to do in 2007, create a super cheap labor force from across the border that will now be ‘legal” in every sense of the term.
The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007, … (S. 1348) was a bill discussed in the 110th United States Congress that would have provided legal status and a path to legal citizenship for the approximately 12 million illegal immigrants currently residing in the United States. Wiki
What the bill will create is a second-class citizen status in America with it’s “Z Visas”, forcing them to work and pay-taxes for 8 years, with fewer rights and privileges than U.S. citizens, but opening them up to pay into insurance companies and open bank accounts. 12 million new customers with more on the way. You phony liberal Blue-Dog Dems will like that, won’t you?
It seems everyone can see through this charade except my liberal brotheren…
“They give the slogan of change but in practice no change is seen. … We haven’t seen any change,” Khamenei said. Boston.com
Now that the “liberals” have adopted Bush’s “Global War on terror”, his “Pax Americana” world view, and soon his “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” that promises to run-down the wages of the working men and women in America even more in the name of “long term economic growth”, I mean there is nothing left for the puppet Obama to smooth over for them….
Bush was asked if he made progress in some areas for which he hasn’t and probably won’t get credit. Topping his list was his unsuccessful drive in 2005 to reform Social Security. Bush said his effort showed it’s politically safe to campaign on changing Social Security and then actually seek to change it. TP
You see, what TP didn’t understand (or maybe they do, Podesta was Obama’s transition team leader, you know) is that Bush was giving us a hint of things to come; testing the waters, so to speak, of yet another Obama/Bush policy agenda just waiting in the wings. With all this turmoil over the bankers stealing from us and now the immigration reform bill peeking it’s head around the corner, all while we are making clear overtures in concert with out “beacon of democracy” Israel, the last thing they want to mention is the pending privatization of Social Security that Obama will eventually achieve.
(ok. The “beacon of democracy” joke wasn’t very Kosher of me, I know…)
But the point is, people, just like Emanuel said, “Never let a crisis go to waste. You can get things passed you won’t be able to normally“.
The deepening financial crisis in America is going to be this presidents 9/11. It presents opportunity for the banks to make a killing, and with his “stimulus bill” it also gives big corporations the opportunity to do the same.
What did Obama’s $800 billion stimulus package deliver to the people? Tax breaks amounting to $10 a week for people who HAVEN’T yet lost their jobs and $20 a month in FOOD STAMPS for each FAMILY. Do you have any idea what $20 dollars buys these days? That’s roughly an extra gallon of milk per week per FAMILY.
Talk about “Let them eat cake!”. You can’t even afford cake on that increase.

The Europeans are getting it but Americans just sit back and watch TV. The revolution is not televised here.
As neo-liberal education reforms are planned across Europe, students in the continent have been taking to the streets leading to battles with riot police in several cities.
On Wednesday morning, the day before the general strike over one million workers, students clashed with riot police in Paris after a demonstration over the university reforms. Universities across France have been barricaded and picketed for almost two months in a standoff over these higher education reforms. The satirical weekly Le Canard Enchaîné yesterday reported that Sarkozy wanted student protests calmed by May, fearing echoes of the student-led protests of May 1968. more
