Leading the Wal-Mart Cheer

Give me a W...give me an A.....

In front, leading the Wal-Mart cheer is Taneka Robertson.

Wal-Mart donates money to teachers to spend on their class

Short Mountain School was visited by Steve Phillips, Taneka Robertson, and Walter Gaskill of the Rutherford Blvd Wal-Mart in Murfreesboro. Wal-mart gave each teacher a $100 gift card to spend toward their class and a $50 gift card to the Art & PE teacher. A total of $1100.00 was awarded. {source - Cannon Wire}

I'm glad that Wal-Mart sometimes decides to give a little money to local schools. It will take a slight load off of parents who are continually hit up for money. Fund raisers are a big thing around here. Just yesterday our local school delivered 360 dozen of Krispy Kreme donuts at $6 a pop to support something or the other for the school.

What struck me in this Wal-Mart give away was that the art and PE teachers only got half of what the others received.
I suppose creativity and physical fitness must not be prerequisites to being a good Wal-Mart shopper.
Wal-Mart is going with the flow. Google 'art, music and PE funding cuts in schools' and you'll see this is the trend all over the country. These 'unnecessary' subjects don't fit in with the federal mandate of "No Child Left Behind."

"Mommy, can we go to Wal-Mart?"

"Tomorrow dear, that's when they'll begin giving the flu vaccine at those 'everyday low prices.' Now eat your donuts and go to your room and play video games. I may even let you ride in one of the scooters there. Won't that be fun?"

I once visited the US and was in a Walmart. Why do some people call them "Wally World"

just curious, always wondered that LOL

  2. It came from the Chevy Chase movie 'National Lampoon's Vacation' where the family was heading to a Disneyland like theme park called "Wally World." Someone, somewhere applied that name to walmart and it stuck. It signifies a dream place to go that really has turned out to be a nightmare.

  3. Haha Wally World here in Canada too. Also slang for the Welfare office. Don't have a clue what it means.

  5. The 28th President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson, once warned his Nation…

"Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the U.S., in the field of commerce and manufacturing, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it."

The 1st President of the United States, George Washington, further warned his Nation…

"It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a Free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even of his personal services to the defense of it."

Unfortunately the American people have failed to heed either one of them as evidenced by their allowing the Nazi coup against Roosevelt to fade from their history books and the murder of Kennedy to go unanswered for.

With such a people supposedly standing behind him, one does wonder how Obama can survive with only these cowards and idiots to protect and defend him, or why he would even want to.

But, and as the great American President Abraham Lincoln once observed by saying

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

the ‘final chapter’ of this latest chapter in the ‘American Story’ is yet to be written, and maybe, just maybe, these poor souls will end up surprising us all again by willingly sacrificing themselves as individuals for the greater good of their Nation.

The cost? Most assuredly high. The bloodshed? Beyond all description and measure to be sure. But as the great American Founding Father Thomas Jefferson once warned,

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Nietzsche was another who wrote about the need of tragic-heroes, revolutionary supermen:

"The great men are necessary, the time in which they appear is accidental; that they almost always become masters over their age is only because they are stronger, because they are older, because for a longer time much was gathered for them." -Twilight of the Idols

"The human being who has become free and how much more the spirit who has become free spits on the contemptible type of well-being dreamed of by shopkeepers, Christians, cows, females, Englishmen, and other bourgeoise. The free man is a warrior. How is freedom measured in individuals and peoples? According to the resistance which must be overcome, according to the exertion required, to remain on top. The highest type of free men should be sought where the highest resistance is constantly overcome: five steps from tyranny, close to the threshold of the danger of servitude. This is true psychologically if by "tyrants" are meant inexorable and fearful instincts that provoke the maximum of authority and discipline against themselves; the most handsome type: Julius Caesar."

  6. And Lenin another great revolutionary who with the help of the exploited Russians overthrew their exploiters and oppressors in the Russian Revolution:

"The dictatorship of the proletariat is a stubborn struggle, bloody and bloodless, violent and peaceful, military and economic, educational and administrative against the forces and traditions of the old society. The dictatorship of the proletariat is the instrument of the proletarian revolution, its organ, its most important mainstay, brought into being for the purpose of, firstly, crushing the resistance of the overthrown exploiters and consolidating the achievements of the proletarian revolution, and secondly, carrying the revolution to the complete victory of socialism. Soviet power as the state form of the dictatorship of the proletariat. The victory of the dictatorship of the proletariat signifies the suppression of the bourgeoisie, the smashing of the bourgeois state machine and the substitution of proletarian democracy for bourgeois democracy."

Therefore, Lenin is right in saying: "The proletarian revolution is impossible without the forcible destruction of the bourgeois state machine and the substitution for it of a new one" (see Vol. XXIII, P. 342)

The time for battle is upon them all, even if they fail to see it.

Unfortunately the American people have failed to heed either one of them as evidenced by their allowing the capitalist coup de etat against Roosevelt to fade from their history books and the murder of Kennedy to go unanswered for.

  7. M-S,

The Russian revolution resulted in the deaths of untold tens of millions of the very proletariat population it was supposed to free.

Please research this issue. A starting point may be....
    http://incogman.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/the-murdering-jew-commies/
Overlook some of the racist comments there and focus on the history.

There is much more on this through a simple search.

Socialism, as with all of the 'isms, may work but only when the leaders are honest and carry out honest policies.

The example of the Russian revolution is not appropriate if one is trying to justify socialism. It was one of the most deadly scams ever perpetrated on the people. That game plan is still being used today.

  8. Kenny: That's not true. Socialism is liberation. If you are labeling the Stalinist USSR as socialist then you need more knowledge about what happened in Russia's Revolution, and the betrayal of Stalin against the real socialist bolsheviks.

By the way don't listen to the far-right wing, libertarian conspiracy theory news sites. I woke up from the free market, ultra-right wing libertarian conspiracy-theory news sites. Most of them are in favor of capitalism, unregulated free market which is really a system which benefits rich people and destroys the working-classes.

The best solution for the economic toilet and quagmire in which most americans are sunk to by the capitalist system is not more capitalism, but socialism of the XXI Century just like Hugo Chavez in Venezuela.

Notice that Hugo Chavez, Evo Morales, Rafael Correa are a guiding light and an example to USA. We can see them as an example, as a role-model, as what we in USA need to do to save USA.

They are not trying the free-market libertarian economic model of unregulated capitalism.

They are applying state-socialist economic policies.

So socialism is the only way out of this hell, not free market libertarianism.

Let other people you know learn about socialism! Spread the word... the more people who know the truth, the greater the force against the capitalist system! Resistance forever!

  9. It's about time the Walton Gang started giving something to schools, since a lot of the stores get huge property and utility tax breaks to build another monstosity.

They been known to get tax breaks from the county, city and state and that's money that doesn't go to schools or fire or police or infrastucture.

When the Walmart opens, within years all the Mom and Pop businesses that had been paying taxes close up, since they can't compete.

  10. Greg, I'm wondering if walmart will make the tour of all the schools in our county or if this is just one stop shopping for a little publicity. The Short Mt. school just happens to be the smallest school in the system so that would be the least 'charity' outlay.

I'm calling on walmart to give to all of the schools of our county equally.

  11. I'm calling on walmart to give to all of the schools of our county equally.

Well, they only rake in over 400 BILLION a year in sales and considering they don't pay much and get most of their product from Chineses prison labor and child labor, they might not have the money to do what you're suggesting...

Sorry, the smart-ass in me just came out.

  14. People's Republik mart boycott them. Always low salaries always. Starting wage at Pinkomart is 6.25$ an hour. No one can live on that. I have been laughing at that case in Florida where ex-manager walked right out the front door with 200,000$. He knew the safe combination and the old guy greeter saw his manager with 10 years experience badge and let him pass.
