Catastrophism and Collective Amnesia

Time I am, destroyer of the worlds, and I have come to engage all people. With the exception of you, all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain.

Could it be that the collective unconscious of humanity has always been driven by the 'memories' of the natural progressive cycles of catastrophic earth changes? It might help explain our preoccupation with 'the end of the world.'

I pulled out my old copies of Immanuel Velikovsky's "Worlds in Collision" and "Earth in Upheaval" for a refresher in the archeological and mythological evidence of what has been termed catastrophism. Not the definitive answer to some questions but interesting and a part of of hidden history. Other theories are out there too, so it's best to make up one's own mind based on knowledge and intuition or maybe just settle for the old standby of  "I Don't Know."

The memory of the cataclysms was erased, not because of lack of written traditions, but because of some characteristic process that later caused entire nations, together with their literate men, to read into these traditions allegories or metaphors where actually cosmic disturbances were clearly described. {more
Embedded in our collective psyche are memories of catastrophic events of terrestrial and cosmic natures; deep down we all “remember” times when the skies were darkened, the earth rumbled, bolts of lightning illuminated the heavens. Humanity has been here long enough to have witnessed countless displays of “theomachy” or the “war of the gods” which ancient rulers sought to emulate. Immanuel Velikovsky believed that humanity as a whole had been so thoroughly traumatized by the succession of these events that modern man’s overall disposition was that of a mental patient who had no recollection of what had happened, but who behaved irrationally and even self-destructively in the process of repeatedly “acting out” or re-creating those traumatic events. {more}

We must remember that Velikovsky was a zionist and that some of his theories are skewed in that direction, especially concerning the alleged Hebrew exodus. He's a piece of the puzzle that does not reflect the whole picture.

The world is full of speculation on major events and the lead up to them.  Although it may be inevitable that catastrophic earth changes will happen, we don't actually know the timeline. In the meantime, we still have our lives to live and we still have the obligation to put a stop to the very real and very dangerous people who wish to rule by force, fear and deception and in some cases destroy us even before the forces of nature get their chance.

Collective amnesia may be the least of our problems.

Fukushima Unit 4
The Japan situation, "fear on the ground" as ABC news calls it, seems to be leading us into a situation the media thrives on, continual fear that may be sometimes justified, and stories of heroes. The "Fukushima 50 ..."

An unnamed American official spells out 'our' position on the "suicide mission to save Japan."
"We are all-out urging the Japanese to get more people back in there to do emergency operation there, that the next 24 to 48 hours are critical."

"They need to stop pulling out people—and step up with getting them back in the reactor to cool it. There is a recognition this is a suicide mission."
Monsters live among us.

Old grudges ... new ones born every minute

In some nice timing while our attention is focused on Japan ... Raymond Davis is freed.

Acquitted of double murder charges and released by court after a deal to pay ‘blood money’ to victims’ families was reached.

It is interesting times indeed.

  1. I have a couple of quotes that have always seemed noteworthy to me.

Sometime around 23 hundred years ago we see in the Mahabharata Yudhishthira has a vision of the age to come: “I see the coming of another age, where barbaric kings rule over a vicious, broken world; where puny, fearful, hard men live tiny lives, white hair at sixteen, copulating with animals, their women perfect whores, making love with greedy mouths. The cows dry, trees stunted, no more flowers, no more purity; ambition, corruption, the age of Kali, the black time”

Many well known scientists have studied vedic literature. Max Planck, and Robert Oppenheimer to be sure. Carl Jung the Swiss psychiatrist was also immersed in the teachings. It gave rise to his writings on collective consciousness. Oppenheimer especially liked the Bhagavad Gita, immersed himself in Sanskrit while working on the Manhattan project. After the first atomic blast in New Mexico he quoted a couplet from the Gita 11:12. attributed to Lord Krishna: "I am death devourer of all."

  2. I couldn't sign in here with word press any more.

  3. Interesting times indeed Kenny. And interesting information Mick.

The quote from Yudhishthira seems right on the money. When I look at the Protocols, which seems to me to be a blueprint for creating a world described by Yudhishthira, I see modern society.

  4. Seems to me that the fellow who created the bomb, upon watching it explode for the first time also said, "I am death, devourer of all" too.

Anybody know exactly what they are saying here? Are they saying 20 years for streaming a youtube?

  6. 20 years for streaming a youtube?

They joos want to get paid. Digital changed EVERYTHING, so this is a last ditch attempt to criminalize everyone. Most of us would get life in jail for what's on out laptops. every parasite needs a host

  7. " Enemies are necessary for the wheels of the U.S. military machine to turn. "

which reminds me of the quote from Pound or Mullins that a standing army will ensure war. US military is all over the map because if they were at home, there would be a coup. I think the coup needs to be done against elements in the US military, including the zionists. The only group I can think of capable of that is veterans. They are being contained with lies disinfo etc by VT. It's been hinted at here in the past and in my mind VT Fails the 911 litmus test

  8. @3:18 PM, good answer to mick's question.

@3:41 PM, the hint is still here.

  9. Super moon warming up Kenny.

ALERT: Ontario Nuclear Plant Reports Leak & 4.3 Earthquake In Quebec. Ontario Power Generation has notified Canada’s federal nuclear regulator about the release of 73,000 litres of demineralized water entered into Lake Ontario. Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission stated“The radiological risk to the environment and people’s health is negligible.

See there is nothing to worry about now go shopping!

  10. I read Worlds in Collision years ago, but I had never realized Velikovsky had been such an ardent Zionist. I checked out some of the links you posted and indeed it seems he was.

  11. Same with me Richard. 40 or so years ago when I picked up those books we didn't think in those terms.

  12. dublinmick had to post anon for some reason

You don't suppose that has anything to do with why a young aspiring academic would be more excepted and read than the only written records we have of such events do you? I am speaking of the cuneiform tablets that are in the Berlin museum, some were in the the Baghdad museum. Sagan for that matter also.

You don't become great discoverer simply translating what is already known. Velikovsky was right about a celestial battle so to speak. He however neglects what is already know of Nibiru and discussed in the Enuma Elish. It gives thousand s of pages, everything from maps of the solar system, diagrams of the space ships in the mahabharata, what they planted, their academic studies, Nibiru crashing into the earth, the deluge and almost anything else you wish to know about the time period.

Sitchin does a pretty good job translating although he reaches at times as we all would, throws in his own spin. The native American accounts square up pretty well with it, Cheyenne balanced cross in a circle, (planet of the crossing). Aborigines of Australia, winged globe of the Greeks and so on. You can't just take their word for it if you are looking for fame and notoriety as a "discoverer" of ancient truth.

  13. dublinmick

While on the subject why not have a representative of the Potala, a monk from a Shaolin temple or a Mahatma from India speak to your audience during a fact finding mission? They will tell you the same thing.
It of course won't lead to large headlines and book deals and cement your fame as truth teller by repeating such established and known facts.

  14. Gerry Zeitlin was managing UC Berkeley's SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) project, known as Project SERENDIP.

Mr. Zeitlin has read about everything worth reading, in my opinion anyway, including the Kharsag Epics Nos. 1-9 (taken from Sumerian tablets), The Atrahasis Epic (a story from nineteenth century B.C.E. Mesopotamia that includes both a creation and a flood account), the Askew Codex (a collection of ancient Coptic documents), and the Bruce Codex (another Coptic collection) as well as most of Sitchin's books. He gives an impressive analysis of what he found.

I have read most of Sitchin's books. They provide much information that has been neglected by modern society. But they do not provide all of the essential aspects of the picture he paints, and they have other "downsides" which we could address if you wish. One of the gaps relates to your question: How did the "Anunnaki" happen to be living on this planet "Nibiru"? Did they "evolve" there (assuming humans and humanoids "evolve", which is an assumption I do not make), or did they arrive from somewhere else?

If they arrived from somewhere else, and did not simply originate and evolve on Nibiru, then the characteristics of Nibiru are not so important, are they? This comes under the general heading of what I call "colonization", a consideration that has been utterly missed by the SETI community because they have been persuaded that interstellar colonization by living beings is utterly impossible. Thus they go on in a tiresome way about "good candidates for producing life" and "bad candidates". Aside from colonization by living beings, there is the interesting possibility of colonization and even environmental engineering by DNA itself. You will have to refer to my pages for more details about that.

Never. For most of my life I was able to "compartmentalize" my thinking and discourse. But this was not satisfying, as you can imagine. After I began to develop Open SETI, I found that my colleagues not only could not grasp what is was, but were not even interested.

Disclosure? No. An event promulgated by aliens themselves? They have not done anything like that since the "gods" left us several thousand years ago. Who can tell whether or when they will do it again

  15. As f/Davis release,a few more bags of tax-payer $'s & not a Baaaa frorm the herd.
I'am pretty sure crime does pay
    f/some people.
