Gil Scott-Heron

Gil Scott-Heron has died.  His phrase/poem/tune "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" is very well known and often used but the man behind it is not a household name. Say what you may about him but he had something to say. Too bad he never got to jam with Jimi Hendrix. That would have been something.

Gil's song about nuclear power plants and nuclear waste, "South Carolina," is still as relevant today as it was 32 years ago when he sang it.
What ever happened to the protests and the rage,
What ever happened to the voices of the sane,
What ever happened to the people who gave a damn.
Didn't they justify the dying in the jungle of Vietnam.

Listen to more Gil Scott-Heron at Wolfgang's Vault.

Gil did a lot of dope and alcohol.  He earned the right to sing honestly about it.

  1. I'm kind of young(28) so I don't know a lot about him(to me "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" was a documentary about Hugo Chavez) so thanks for this Kenny. FYI-on a bit of pot and alcohol at the moment. Keeps me off pills and worse so fuck you DEA/MSM/GOV/ETC!

  2. No dancing in public now ...

Not sure what this type protest theater accomplishes but I guess it's better than nothing.

"Police Brutality at the Silent Flashmob at the Jefferson Memorial"

  3. I could be wrong, but hasn't Adam Kokesh(involved in the above) verbally attacked 9/11 truth and/or anti-zionist activists before?

  4. I don't know but the video is shameless self promotion by Kokesh.

In contract to Gil Scott-Heron's words and the protests of the 60's, early 70's and some beyond that, this shows where protest in this country is. No anti-war theme for this Memorial Day weekend, just it's my right to dance. The more I think about it, the more worthless and counter effective it seems. Maybe that's by design?

  5. Where is the younger generation today? The hippies of the 60's are dying off. Who is now speaking up? I know many of our young people are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan... but does the country now just accept perpetual war? Do we simply accept nation building in Afghanistan and Iraq , while our roads, schools and bridges crumble here at home? How did we get this far down?

  6. Liber americans have been poisoned. If you don't think you are held in utter contempt read this.

Biotech company using cell lines from aborted babies in food enhancement testing

That is right sports fans Pepsi is using aborted fetal cells in flavor enhancers. They are used in by Nestle and Kraft Foods. Are you beginning to get the picture? The Frankenstein monster has escaped the castle and is running free along with Dr. Frankenstein. What is next the legalization of cannibalism? Apparently there is big dollars in child murder! I don’t drink them, haven’t for decades. I am wondering if anyone who does has developed a taste for human flesh yet?

Welcome to the world of Mad Max, The Road and Soylent Green!

  7. He just is another violent negro activist.
His take on a non televised revolution is accurate to a T.
The media only pushes the "good" revolution. So I get it.
But this negro is not to be admired in any way.
he is typical nergro controlled opposition funded by jewish intrests insighting violence upon whites.
I repeat, this negro is speaking about revolution on whites. Absent minded as he is.

  8. Know n###rs, know Violence.
    This "guy" is no good.

  9. Went to YouTube to search for a video and here's what came up on the search page:

Not only will the Revolution not be televised, it won't happen.

  10. Yeah Greg, especially with racist scum like the 2 guys above missing the point. If he was white and saying what he said would it then be ok to you fucks? Anon@5:14, you should know controlled opposition, you are serving that purpose right now, you poor "victim" you. Bitch.

And to Liber8tor, there is no draft now, that goes a long way in explaining the apathy. The warmongers have learned a lesson over the Vietnam protests.

  11. Anonymous, I assure you they are planning conscription. Obama ran on an explicit openly pro conscription platform, and within the past year his administration has argued for it in an interview with Andrea Mitchell. Find it. There will be no protests because conservatives think they love war and liberals believe war is now compatible with their only interest, publicising private moral indiscretions. This was the purpose behind those two recent changes in military clear 'liberal' objections to the draft. Only their fantasy is to make it more universal..domestic police and outright slave labour here at home. Such a bill has been written. (Rangel sponsor.)
I stand behind my position that Vietnam protests served powerful interests at the time and were not only allowed but orchestrated.

  12. RIP Soul Man!

I also liked 'Whitey on the Moon'

This site shares my opinion of VT (spooks R US)

  13. LL, you are correct that many of the major Vietnam protests were orchestrated. A look at the real history of the yippies, Hoffman, Rubin, etc. shows that. Many of us woke up to that fact during the circus of the Chicago 8 (7) trial in 1969-70 when it became obvious what was going on.

Unless we go full bore into WWIII, conscription won't be needed. Too many unemployed and brainwashed youth (and their parents) to keep the body supply line going. Citizenship is also being given to non-citizens who play the war games.

  14. VT is spooky as hell. I admit to liking quite a few articles from there but I have no illusions. Duff,"Captain May" and Sibel Edmonds are 3 obvious spooks who come to mind that write for VT.

I agree with Kenny, a draft is not needed, there are plenty of available bodies sadly.

And yes, all movements are infiltrated,ALL of them. The Vietnam protests scared "them" even if many of them were contrived and/or co-opted. Part of what led to those protests was the draft. They wont make that mistake again in my opinion.
