I'm not supporting Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate for president, and her VP Cheri Honkala but their arrest outside the rigged two party debate and detainment for 8 hours speaks volumes for those whose message is not in line with the criminal syndicate that runs this country. Even their protest and arrest stunt didn't gain much traction in the mainstream media. Ignore and the message will go away.
Stein, whether she wants to be or not, is controlled opposition and basically her party's only outlet for extended coverage is in the controlled alternative media such as Democracy Now. It was funny that the 'officers' detaining her did stand still and let Stein get a few words in for the camera before hauling her away.
Last night's stage show between Romney and Obama was a poor excuse for this thing called debate. Neither had anything worthwhile to say. Nothing. Literally.
I thought it symbolically appropriate that the debate was held in Hempstead but there was no mention of hemp or its much maligned sister.
Any political party platform that includes an end to the illegal wars of occupation and expansion of empire, Israeli influence on US foreign policy, the right of return for Palestinians, the dismantling of the Patriot Act and associated unconstitutional 'laws' and the questioning of the official story of 9/11 doesn't even get second class status in our 'republic.' We have to deal with it.
It's not the messenger but the message. We don't all agree but we do still have the option of free speech and unless we use it, we lose it.
