Falling Down

Like I always say...when it comes to building demolitions...you get what you pay for...

Dayton, Ohio has had a couple of notable buildings fall down in the last couple of months. Today they had one that wasn't exactly controlled.  Where's an excellent explosive demolition crew when you need one? Cutting costs is sometimes dangerous but it's the way of the world.
This one back in August went pretty good. I know it's hard to live up to the engineering of the 9/11 events, even if WTC7 was a little off schedule, but some companies try to maintain the tradition.

Speaking of falling down, I saw this video where an alleged mentally challenged boy stood up for a few seconds and then he fell down. Bullets from crazed cops tend to do that. This is America.....

  1. It reminds me of the one on Libertate, hard men will gun you down in your sleep. Police were tipped there was a marijuana smell coming from the home of an elderly man. Well they crashed in his door in the middle of the night and he reached for a gun beside his bed and they emptied a volley of bullets killing him. All over the smell of a dubie.

It is strange also when the congressional stenographer seizes the microphone and announces they are all masons and cannot serve two Gods. She was sent in for a mental exam. The only one willing to tell the truth and she gets a nutso checkup.

    1. That is an interesting event that is being buried in the media. I'd say she was definitely in the know.

    1. Could Sonny Bono's grilling of Janet Reno about Waco set in motion his assassination?

    2. Wow, I didn't know that about Sonny Bono, Kenny -- I always thought he died in a ski accident -- and I'm (just) old enough to remember when he was on TV with Cher. Those are some pretty pointed questions he's asking Janet. Here's another guy who thinks Bono was assassinated, but for different reasons.

    3. Sonny may have been a little naive thinking he could play hardball with the big boys. If he isn't already he should be in the 'Clinton Body Count.'

    4. Oops, looks like my link didn't work. Here's the page I was referring to ... http://www.dcdave.com/article5/080406.htm
DC Dave mentions the Waco Connection, but it also looks like Bono was investigating drug and arms deals:
Before Bono's death, [Bob] Fletcher had been probing the activities of high ranking U.S. military and government officials he claims were raking in millions from arms and drug deals in Central America and Southeast Asia.

He says he sent his shocking findings of corruption, including videotaped evidence, to Bono.

"I later received a call from an assistant in his offices to tell me Sonny had seen my full report and was absolutely livid about the level of corruption I made him aware of," Fletcher tells GLOBE.

"He was going to make it his No. 1 priority when Congress resumed after the Christmas and New Year break. He was going to go after the biggest names.

"Just 10 days later, I received a call that he was dead. I'd heard it was suspected his offices had been bugged. Tragically, that must have been the case. There's no doubt in my mind Sonny was murdered by someone who needed to silence him."

  3. Where have I seen smoke blown through broken windows below collapsing structures before? This is the clip used on NBC News (9/22/2013). When I watched it on the news, they had the side view for just a few frames at the end of the segment. I surprised they put this online.

    1. The Macy's Building collapse of the penthouse in the video is probably pretty similar to # 7 if we had an aerial view of its demise.

  5. Answer a few quick questions to see the premium estimates.

This isn't the application for Marketplace coverage. No information you enter here will carry over to your application.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The prices shown on this tool don't reflect the lower costs you may qualify for based on household size and income.

Most people who apply will pay lower monthly premiums than those shown here. Households with yearly incomes up to about $46,000 for individuals or $94,000 for a family of 4 will qualify for lower costs. You'll get final quotes for specific plans based on your income and household after you complete a Marketplace application.

Although the sign-in site might not be working, you can at least get approximate rates for the level of health care you select. Just tried the site and it worked fine.

    1. I've talked to a number of people who are semi-excited about getting signed up. Those with pre-existing conditions, actually needing surgery, turned down before or just haven't been able to afford insurance. Obama said today don't worry about the POS computer system, you can sign up in person, somewhere.

You might want to check the Kaiser Family Foundation Subsidy Calculator to see what your costs might be depending on income. According to this I would get the Bronze plan for free.
