They read the stimulus bill just like they read the Patriot Act

Reading a bill in its entirety, studying it and analyzing the details is not a requirement of Congress. In fact, it is preferable not to do so. With such a bill as The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, reading it would only confuse the issues for most of Congress because by the time they got to the end of the 1,400 or so pages they would have forgotten most of it.

At least there was no need to send anthrax to any of the faux dissenters of the legislation as was done with the Patriot Act. Having a democrat majority that can get the votes through probably saves a few lives.

I wonder what will be the next "hurry up before there is a catastrophe" bill?
