States Rights: Guns and Marijuana

There's so much talk about guns and who controls them. States are proposing laws to keep the feds out of the business of  gun confiscation and threatening to arrest them if they try. Sheriffs are saying they will not assist any federal effort to neuter the 2nd Amendment. States rights and how they are applied have long been a contentious issue in this country and in several ways remain so.

The gay rights movement has had some success in using the concept of states rights for their right to marry objective. There is no threat that I know of  for the feds coming into states to arrest gay married couples legal under their state's laws.

The same cannot be said for states that have legalized medial marijuana. The feds continue to shut down state legal grow operations and dispensaries, arresting some and threatening others with prison time as seen in the video below.
There have been a few perceived victories by marijuana advocates such as LA repeals its ban on pot stores but that does nothing about fed raids and possibly could incite them to do more.

There are 18 states where medical marijuana is legal and 2 where recreational use is somewhat legal.. Can we afford to have the federal government interfere in all of these? It's time to legalize it in every state and tell the feds to butt out.

Putting the feds in their constitutional place is the goal of legitimate gun rights activists as it is with marijuana and hemp proponents and those wanting to dismantle the 'war on drugs.' It seems to me they all should be natural allies to preserve individual and states rights. In states like Tennessee this is not the case. The legislature is all about gun rights and standing up to the feds on this issue but want to keep marijuana users as criminals. Can you have it both ways? You can but it smacks of hypocrisy.

Maybe I'm off base in relating guns and marijuana but the way I see it...rights is rights. The pursuit of happiness and health ranks right up there with the 2nd Amendment. They actually go hand in hand.

No breach of any part of the 2nd.
No interference in state marijuana decisions.

Russian and Iran signed a security treaty agreement on January 22, 2013. Remember China and Russia signed a similar agreement a few weeks ago.

USrael/NATO is going to get pulverised if they attack Syria or Iran, or if they attack China in support of Japan.

The question is how long China is going to let USrael/NATO try to colonize the resources of Africa many of which have already been contracted by China.

Stay tuned. Rothschild's hair is going a whiter shade of grey.

From Sandy Hook Records... And then there's this:

    1. I found that Sandy Hook Records was indeed in Sandy Hook CT.

For what it's worth, Ingrid Michaelson, who recorded with the Newtown kids is a tribal member.

  4. Anti-war protester interrupts Kerry nomination hearing

"You are killing thousands of people, the Middle East is not a threat to us! When is it going to be enough, when are enough people going to be killed?”

“I’m tired of my friends in the Middle East dying, I don’t know if they’re going to be alive the next day!”

    1. Kerry is a career liarJanuary 24, 2013 at 4:19 PM

Herman Kerry Munster is a polished politician. To the accurate criticism of the murderous corrupt policy of US foreign policy, he "incorporates" the searing truth of the blood on America's hands as part of his plan to make foreign policy more humane.

What a goddamned fucking hypocrite and liar.

  6. Kenny Says: ".....rights is rights. The pursuit of happiness and health ranks right up there with the 2nd Amendment. They actually go hand in hand."

Amen. It is well past time the feds get out of the business of regulating what I and you and every other human does or does not do with his or own body. This drug war has accomplished nothing of value for us - it has, though, further enriched rich men who suck off the taxpayer's tit; helped the fascists in DC further interfere in citizen's private lives and served to further the Police State.

I'm not a weed smoker but I'm well past ready to legalize ALL drugs and allow people the right of self-determination.

    1. I saw this on local news this morning, a report from Oregon on treating autistic rage in an 11 year old using marijuana.
